Children

We want to be a church that is inclusive of all ages.  We recognise that the adults have much to learn from the children, and the children from the adults. Children stay with us during the service but have plenty of opportunities to wander and play in our large family area. Children are welcome every Sunday.

On the second Sunday of each month, during the sermon children have the option to leave us and go for their own story and craft activities in the Parish Centre.

Fourth Sundays see our popular Family Communion service. This is full of music and movement and we actively encourage young people to take part in helping to run the service.

Fifth Sundays see our new Cafe Service. A shorter, informal worship time with themed table top activities and opportunities to get involved for the young and young at heart! Refreshments served throughout.

St Peter’s also runs Footprints for babies/toddlers and their parents/carers, on Thursday mornings from 10am in the Parish Centre.

Footprints is run by a dedicated team of volunteers from our congregation. This is a lively group, very popular with parents and carers as well as with the children – a place to meet and chat over refreshments while your little ones play. Alongside free-play, there are led craft activities, Bible stories, and time for parents and children to join together in singing favourite songs. At Christmas and Easter there are opportunities to mark those special occasions, along with a party.
