Parish Centre


Located at the heart of Birkdale Village, Our Parish Centre is used by a wide range of external Community groups – see list below.

Our Parish Centre is hosting local charity Compassion Acts until February 2021. They are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10am-3pm. Donations can be brought to St Peter’s during those hours.

Foodbank clients can collect food parcels from the church building on Tuesdays 1-3pm. Please speak to Compassion Acts for e-vouchers and other enquiries:

Several of our community groups continue to meet in the church.

Once covid guidelines allow our buildings will also available for private hire for children’s parties.  For further details, please contact the church office on 01704 550 027

St Peter’s also runs Footprints (for babies/toddlers and their parents/carers, on Thursday mornings at 10am) in the Parish Centre (currently suspended).

Open meetings Monday and Wednesday from 7:45pm meeting in the vestry

Closed meeting Friday 6:15-7:45pm in the vestry

Birkdale and Ainsdale University of the Third Age (U3A): Tuesday  1:00-4:15pm including Keep Fit, Scrabble, Bridge, Art, and Discussion (returning 2021)

Rhythm Time (music and movement for babies and toddlers): Monday  9:30-12:30pm in the church.

Slimming World: Monday  2:30-7:30pm in the church

4 sessions run throughout the afternoon and evening

Popcats Music Time (for children under 5): Wednesday  9:30-11:30am (suspended)

Yoga class: Wednesday  6:00pm (suspended)

Southport Folk Dance Club: Thursday 7:45pm (September-May inclusive) suspended

Coffee Morning: third Wednesday  10:30am-12:00pm (details on the notice sheets or the office 550027)

Circle Dance: second and fourth Wednesday  7:30-8:30pm (suspended)

U3A: fourth Thursday  2:00pm (suspended)
